Area of production

Surrounded by oak woods and holm oak trees, in the most typical Apennine landscape at the foot of Monte Catria and Monte Nerone, Acqualagna is still today famous for its White Truffles just as in ancient times. Over two thirds of the whole national production of this well known tuber come from Acqualagna.

For centuries the White Truffle from Acqualagna (Tuber Magnatum Pico) has graced the tables of emperors, popes, princes and landowners.

Actually, truffles give value to all dishes: the simplest risotto, the humble fried egg, the everyday steak or escalope, an ordinary pasta dish with butter, a canape, even a sandwich. All dishes fit for a king if sprinkled with truffles.

Apart from the famous White Truffle of Acqualagna, in this area you can also taste other kinds of truffles, like the Black Truffle from Norcia or Perigord (Tuber Melanosporum Vitt), the Summer Truffle (Tuber Aestivum Vitt) and the Bianchetto Truffle (Tuber Burchii Vitt). They are just but a few.
